Kitchen Wrapping Quote Checklist: Photos, Measurements, and Inclusions

Before requesting a kitchen wrapping quote, gather clear photos, count the doors and drawers, record approximate measurements, and decide which surfaces you want covered. Include the condition of the cabinets, your preferred finish and any access restrictions so the installer can assess the same job you have in mind.

This kitchen wrapping quote checklist walks you through what to send and what to ask before accepting a price. For help with budgeting, see our kitchen wrapping cost guide. Here, the focus is preparing a clear brief and checking the scope of work.

Your kitchen wrapping quote checklist at a glance

  • Photograph every cabinet wall, island or peninsula, plus any damage.
  • Count door fronts, drawer fronts and exposed panels separately.
  • Record approximate sizes in centimetres and label the layout.
  • Specify outer faces, edges, backs, interiors and any additional surfaces.
  • Share your preferred finish, location, timing and access arrangements.
  • Ask for written inclusions, exclusions, payment terms and warranty details.

Photos and approximate sizes can support an initial estimate. Ask whether a site visit, material selection or further checks are needed before the price is final.

Photograph each cabinet wall and damaged area

Start with one wide photo of each wall of cabinetry, sometimes called an elevation. Show the full run, including tall units and appliances. If the room is too narrow for one clear shot, send overlapping photos and label which wall they show. Photograph an island or peninsula from every exposed side.

Photograph-Each-Elevation

Next, photograph chipped corners, peeling finishes, stains, swollen areas and damage around the sink. Include one wider view to locate each issue. Show decorative grooves, curved sections, handles and any old wrap that may need removing. If you want the backs or interiors wrapped, photograph them with the doors open.

Use daylight or even room lighting, avoid glare, and check that close-ups are sharp. Label the photos Wall A, Wall B, Island and Damage so they match your notes. If you do not know the existing surface material, say so and send a close-up.

Count doors drawers and exposed panels separately

Count each individual front rather than each cabinet unit. A double-door cabinet has two door fronts; a stack of three drawers has three drawer fronts. List visible end panels, island sides, filler strips and plinths—the strips along the bottom of the cabinets—separately if you want them wrapped.

Note tall pantry doors, glass-fronted doors and integrated appliance fronts separately. Label a simple sketch with D1 for a door, DR1 for a drawer and P1 for a panel, or use any numbering system that is easy to follow. Check the count against your photos to avoid recording the same surface twice.

Measure the surfaces you want wrapped

Use a tape measure and record all dimensions in centimetres. Measure the visible face from edge to edge, writing width × height for doors, drawer fronts and panels. Group matching sizes together and record the quantity. Measure unusual sizes separately.

SurfaceMeasurements to sendDetails to add
Doors and drawer frontsWidth × height; quantity of each sizeTall doors, grooves, curves or glass inserts
Exposed panels and plinthsVisible width or length × heightLocation and which faces need wrapping
Countertop, if requestedLength × depth of each sectionEdges, upstands, joints, sink and hob cut-outs
Backsplash, if requestedWidth × height of each sectionCorners, sockets, tile joints and other interruptions

For example: “Wall A: two base door fronts, approximately 60 × 72 cm each.” These are face dimensions, not the amount of film to order. Do not add wrapping allowances or waste; the installer calculates those. For an L-shaped countertop, sketch both runs and mark the shared corner so the layout is clear.

Label measurements approximate. If a surface is difficult to reach, flag it for measurement during a visit rather than guessing or moving heavy appliances yourself.

Specify exactly which surfaces are included

“Outside only” can mean different things. State whether you want just the visible outer faces, or also the door edges, reverse faces, cabinet frames, interiors and shelves. Ask how the edges and returns will be finished, especially where the original colour may remain visible when a door opens.

  • Cabinet scope: outer faces, edges, backs, frames, interiors and shelves.
  • Visible extras: end panels, island sides, fillers, plinths and trims.
  • Separate surfaces: countertop, backsplash or appliance exteriors, if suitable.

Mark each item include, exclude or quote separately. If you are considering wardrobes or interior doors too, list them as separate optional items so the kitchen price stays easy to compare.

Share your preferred colour and finish, plus a product reference or sample code if you have one. If you are undecided, ask for options to be priced separately. Request confirmation that the proposed film suits each surface, particularly around heat, water and frequent use.

Check preparation access and quote inclusions

Ask the installer to assess the damage shown in your photos and explain what preparation is required. Do not assume peeling finishes, swollen boards or loose panels can simply be covered. Ask whether repair, removal of an existing finish or replacement is needed, and who will carry out that work.

Include your area in Dubai, property type, whether the kitchen will be occupied, and your preferred dates. Mention parking, lift bookings, permitted working hours and any building or landlord approvals you already know are needed. Identify appliances or fittings that restrict access.

Quote itemWhat to confirm in writing

If you are comparing quotes, send each installer the same photos and scope. A lower total may cover fewer panels, a different finish or less preparation. Compare those details before deciding.

Not sure about every measurement or detail yet? That’s fine. Include what you know and let us know what still needs to be assessed. Our team can confirm whether additional photos, measurements, material selection or a site visit are required before the quotation is finalised.

Common questions before requesting a quote

Can I request a quote without exact measurements

You can send photos and counts to start the conversation. State which dimensions are missing and ask whether the installer can give an initial estimate or needs to measure the kitchen first.

Are the countertop and backsplash included automatically

Do not assume they are. List each surface explicitly and request a separate price if you are undecided. Ask the installer to confirm suitability and preparation for each one.

Will complete photos guarantee a final price

No. Photos help define the work, but hidden damage, access, final measurements and your chosen material may still need checking. Ask which assumptions the price depends on and how any changes will be agreed.
